Agile project management has moved from being a niche methodology for software developers to a mainstream business strategy. Today, project managers in construction, healthcare, marketing, and finance are leveraging Agile to stay competitive.

### Why the Shift to Agile?
In an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) world, traditional waterfall planning can sometimes be too rigid. Agile allows organizations to:
- Respond to changing market conditions faster.
- Deliver value to customers earlier through incremental releases.
- Improve team collaboration and morale.
- Reduce risk by identifying issues early through frequent feedback loops.

### The Hybrid Reality
Most organizations today don't use "pure" Agile or "pure" Waterfall. Instead, they use Hybrid models. For example, a project might use Waterfall for high-level budgetary and milestone planning, while using Scrum for the actual execution of tasks.

### Agile in the PMP Exam
Reflecting this industry shift, the PMP exam now includes 50% Agile and Hybrid content. This means that to be a certified professional today, you must be just as comfortable with Sprints, Backlogs, and Retrospectives as you are with Gantt charts and Critical Path Method.
